Horton is not named as a RATional Creature because he was never meant to stay here. One of Katy's small boys which I allowed my two younger children to name as they wished, and keep and care for themselves, had died. Luke was left alone without a companion so I took one of the bigger boys from Curie's litter and gave him to Luke. My daughter named him Horton after Tim (Katy's baby) for the chain of coffee stores - Tim Hortons. Horton doesn't really like other boys very much, but he is a wonderful people rat who is big, strong, and beautiful. He lives alone and often can be found helping me cook or bake.
